Job Description:
JOB ROLES FOR FLOOR AND WALL TILERS
Client Consultation: Tilers will communicate with clients to understand their style and preferences and provide input on design options. Tilers would ensure that the floor and wall tiles are high quality and both meet aesthetic, practical and high standards.
Tile Layout: Ensuring precise alignment and spacing, plan and lay out tiles to ensure patterns are symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing, including cutting tiles to fit around obstacles.
Preparation of Surface: Prepare surfaces for tiling, ensure that surfaces are clean, level, and ready for tiling. Apply underlayments or waterproofing membranes.
Application of Adhesive: Apply adhesive to surfaces using trowels, ensuring an even spread for tile adherence.
Tile Installation: Carefully install tiles on floors and walls or ceilings in various patterns, ensuring they are evenly spaced and level appropriately.
Tile Cutting: Fixtures as necessary, measuring and cutting tiles to fit around edges and corners. Sealing edges and joints, cleaning excess adhesive from tile surfaces.
Grouting and Maintenance: Fill the gaps between tiles with grout, wipe away excess, and polish the tiles for a finished look. Offering advice on care and maintenance of tiled areas.
Safety and Health Compliance: Tilers would follow safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment and condition.
